I have neglected my blog and my crafty corner for about 2 or more weeks. School is starting and my mojo just went gogo. That and time is very limited. Hopefully I can get myself sorted back out this week. I checked out a few challenges I want to join and I definitely want to get started on my Scrappers Delight DT cards! See you soon.

The green pattern paper is from DCWV's World Traveler Stack and so is the sentiment. The red paper is Core'dinations cardstock. I used a new set of Verithin PrismaColor pencils that I picked up from ebay. Not sure if I am happy with the shading, but I guess I will just have to keep practicing!

this is an absolutely beautiful image from A Day for Daisies! This week's challenge is a secret ingredient or two. You have to hop on a few blogs to locate the item or items that are consistent with each DT members card. I think WINGS is one ingredient, but I can not figure out the second. I embossed the purple metallic paper with a floral folder on the Cuttlebug and added Stickles to her wings. The pattern paper is from DCWV's The Glitter Mat Stack. I inked up the edges, added purple cardstock as a mat, and a pretty purple ribbon to accent.

Heavy Metal Knight

Catch the Bug's challenge is to use metal. I had a blast doing this card. I paper pieced the sword and shield with silver and a small piece of gold metallic paper. I added grommets and a backing paper that look like copper and added some copper wiring to the card. The silver background was put through the Cuttlebug and matted to black cardstock. So Much FUN!!! The image is a Dustin Pikes' Doodle Dragon digi and I think he fit the "Metal" challenge perfectly!!!

I am also entering this card in the challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room. Challenge #4 is to have "Something Old and Something New". The metallic paper is one of my newest purchases from Joann's, but my husband found that copper wiring on the side of the road while jogging. It was wrapped up with some electrical tape and was a pure mess. After stripping a few strands, I cleaned them with some brake cleaner and now they look shiny and new! I hope that they still qualify as the "Something Old"...

I have a hard time with Christmas challenges that require untraditional colors, but Ruby here from Bugaboo Stamps made it simple! Check her out in her little black dress and silver embellishments. I added a little bit of red to make her pop and I think she is ready to DISCO!!! The pattern paper is from DCWV's Glitter Mat Stack and the silver is from the Metallic Stack. I added brads and a ribbon.

...is Paper Sundaes' challenge this week. I chose to use Broken Box Stock's freebie to color. I ended up making the digi a little bit bigger because the first one was just too small to color. Therefore there is not a lot of room for the background papers and ribbon. I think the floral paper at the bottom is all about summer, but couldn't figure out how to make it more prominent on the card.

Sassy Cheryl's has some of the cutest digis on Paper Craft Planet. I chose this little Diva for their "Circle" challenge this week. I used paper from DCWV's Birthday Extravaganza and the Glitter Mat Stack. Both of which have a circular design and matches the little girl's dress pretty good. I added the buttons and ribbon to qualify for the recipe challenge on One Stop Craft Challenge of two pattern papers, 3 buttons, and one ribbon.

Whew...that was a mouth full. I'm a little late in posting this one. I finished the card last night, but took a nap instead of taking the pic and then today we went thrift shopping for scrapbook stuff. We bought jeans instead and ate dinner at Applebee's. I had a really nice day with the hubby and kids. Very Relaxing!!!

On with the card...this is a digi from Bugaboo Stamps and is called Winter Birds-Friends. The mini challenge over at Catch the Bug is "Snow Themed". The pattern paper is from my scrap pile. I added Glossy Accents to the dark blue areas of the birdie and to the hat and scarf of the little "friend". Stardust Stickles were added to the snow. The sentiment is from My Pink Stampers' Winter Punnies. I won those a few months ago and have been chomping to use them!!

but I do love this little Bugaboo digi! I added Glossy Accents to the dark blue feathers of the bird and to the black hat and button of the snowman. The snowballs and snow that is falling was touched up with some Stickles. I am hoping that combined with the glittered cardstock from DCWV's Grade School Stack it will be sufficient enough for Sew Many's challenge to use glitter.

I love summer. I love the beach. and I love summer vacation at the beach. I just thought I would let you know...

I used Create a Critter to cut the sun and Life's a Beach to cut the umbrella and sand castle. I laid them out on the Gypsy so I can't give the sizes. I tore a piece of light brown/beige cardstock and dotted it with a black gel pen to mimic the sand and embossed the blue background with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I so wish I was baking in the sun with my feet in the sand. Sigh...

Have you ever had a project that just would not come together...you had to force it? Well I think this card is the perfect example of that. I used the bird and balloon cut from Birthday Bash and paired it up with a tri-fold card cut from Wild Card. I embossed the balloon to go along with Emma's challenge over at My Creative Time for Me and added a light blue pattern paper from DCWV Stack 7 paper pad. Even though I designed the card in my Gypsy, I did not hide the leaf cuts so I couldn't really layer the front of the card. but I did add a layer to the second fold so that it can peek through the leaves.

My idea of camping is spending the night at the Marriott! I just love the idea of hot water and a hair dryer!!! The grass, campfire, marshmallows, and camper are from Everyday Paperdolls and the critters and clouds are from Create a Critter. I figured it would need to fit on a 91/4 X 4 card so I made sure the camper was just short of the necessary height. The rest of the cuts were compared to the camper and then cut.

I love watermelons! Especially when they taste as good as they smell! For Bugaboo's Wacky Wednesday Sketch Challenge on Paper Craft Planet and Crafters Digital Art Center I chose this cutie patootie from Bugaboo Stamps. I added Glossy Accents to the watermelon rind, seeds and the little girl's hairbows. The smaller pattern paper is from DCWV Nana's Nursery: Baby Girl and the larger paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane. I matted the pattern papers with a soft pink cardstock and wrapped pink twine around the base of the card. I thought about adding a button, but I wanted to include the card in Catch the Bugs' Clean and Simple challenge too. This card will also qualify for One Stop Craft "Summertime" Challenge and Allsorts Free and Easy July.

Designed 2 Delight offered a set of strawberries for their progressive challenge and since I always seem to print out my digis a little too big I ended up with a 9X4 card. The pattern paper is from DCWV Nana's Nursery: Baby Girl and I added two red buttons along with inking the edges of all of the pages. I also put Glossy Accents on the strawberries and on the flower center.

This is Pearl's Castle from Whimsie Doodles. Such a cute digi to go along with their "Beach" theme challenge this week. I also incorporated Scrapalicious USA's Turquoise challenge which by the way is an awesomely difficult color to figure out!! I used my one and only Labels Two Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut out my digi and the first turquoise frame. The pattern paper is from a ColorBok pack that I purchased from Walmart about ten years ago. I added a glitter marker to my little penguin's crown and Glossy Accents to his body.

Die Cuttin' Diva is hosting a sketch challenge and I decided to incorporate both Cooking with Cricut's Anything Goes and More Than Favors' Color Challenge of Red, White, and Blue.

I chose to use the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge and cut the card from page 38, the balloons from page 54, and the circle/oval background from page 70. The pattern papered balloons are from scrap bits of DCWV's The Celebration Stack. I embossed the red circle with the Cuttlebug and punched out the white circle with a 2 inch punch and the blue is a 1.5 inch punch. I ripped the paper strings of the balloon when I tried to lift it off of my mat and decided to use real string that I stamped with a brown ink pad. The card will fit in a 5.5X5.5 envelope.

I love SUMMER!!! and I like fishing too. This digi image is Sunbonnet Fish 2 by Bugaboo Digital Stamps. I inked up all of the edges and managed to make a smear spot, but was able to cover it with the three brads!

Yeah, whatever! Not again...

Both Die Cuttin Divas and Fantabulous Cricut are celebrating the "Wedding Season". Creative Sisters is using one color...can black, gray and white be considered as shades of each other? Hope so...

Fantabulous Cricut wants wedding bells on their card so I bought some stickers with only one set of bells at Walmart. Well, I didn't like where I put the bells and when I was trying to move them the dad-blasted things tore!!! Totally frustrating!! Hopefully my project won't be kicked off because I did use a little bit of white in the background pattern paper from ColorBok's Neutral Pattern Pack. It seems I am walking on the edge all of my challenges with this card, so I guess I better stop before I go too far!!!

My cut is from the Wild Card cartridge and I embossed the gray sheet with the stylized flowers Cuttlebug folder. I like how it turned out. I then matted all of the paper with black cardstock. I think I should add a few pearls along the bottom edge...oh well.

Father's Day and a Color Scheme...

My Pink Stamper is doing a color challenge this week...Orange, Green and Turquoise. I spent almost an hour looking for a piece of turquoise and finally had to pull in my color blind husband to help find a blue/green that closely resembled the appropriate color!
More Than Favors is also extending her Wacky Wednesday post by adding Father's Day as her theme which is also the theme at Celebrate the Occasion.
The Paper Variety is looking for a project "For the Guys".
Cooking with Cricut's challenge is our favorite cartridge with our favorite colors. At this point in time the Boys will be Boys cartridge is one of my favorites and I love light green and orange together. It reminds me of sherbet!
Critter Challenge Blog wants cards or projects using kraft paper. I don't have "kraft" paper, but I used a brown that is really really close to the color of my kraft envelopes and card bases.

I used the sample project from the Boys will be Boys cartridge that can be found at the front of the booklet. I just tweeked it a little, but I definitely like the results...

Once again I used the camera, but I don't know how to keep the picture cropped using the Mac...therefore a lot of background in the shot!

I popped up DAD and the little fish and added a few white dots to accent DAD. The card measures 9X4 and will fit in a business sized envelope. I think this may be my first card ever without a background...WOW!

Wedded Bliss...

After 16 years of marriage I still wonder where this term came from. Hmmm. The kids and hubby have left to run some errands and the only thing to break the spell of peace and quiet is the crunching of dog food as Coco eats from the bag.

I used Paper Dolls Dress Up to cut out the cute little groom and bride for the Cricut Cardz Challenge. I added pearls for the bride's necklace and Stickles to her dress. The poor groom is regulated to the background, but that is usually what happens when it comes to weddings. Right? The background paper is from ColorBok's Patterned Paper Neutrals and I think this works nicely with the wedding theme.

I am also entering this project in Emma's Throwback Thursdays at Creative Time for Me. I don't have any Cricut Lite carts. (I don't think), but I did use Stickles and Bling for this card...

I even used the camera instead of the scanner...trying to get into the habit for my trip to Arizona next week. Sure wish I could take a decent pic.!

Wednesday I woke up to a win over on Bugaboo's Wacky Wednesday challenge at Crafters Digital Art Center and Scrapalicious USA then by Random.org on Cricut Cardz Challenge...needless to say I don't care how I win I am totally STOKED!! Well, this morning I was also drawn at Paper Cutz Challenge!!! I so have my fingers crossed for the Grand Prize drawing at both Cricut Cardz and Paper Cutz!! I started out with the sketch over at Die Cuttin Divas and wanted to incorporate a few elements that would also qualify for a few other challenges. Not sure if this still meets the criteria at DCD, but I am going to try it anyway...I used Paper Doll Dress up for the challenge at Two Scraptastic Gals' Cricut Card Chaos Challenge and wanted to do something for Dad that would also take care of Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and Crafting for all Seasons. I cut Superboy on page 56 and most of his elements for the card using 5.25 X 5.25 as my base template on my Gypsy. I hope that the city in the background will qualify for the strip that goes across the card on the DCD sketch? Yeah, I know I am not really asking a question here, but...any whooo I added a sentiment that I printed up in word and that works for the Paper Sundaes Challenge of having a sentiment on your card.

The Sweetest Thing Sunday Sketch

I had already colored and trimmed out Sam and his dog by Bugaboo Stamps , so I was unable to place the image underneath the strip of ribbon and border punched cardstock, but I followed the rest of the sketch. The paper is from Creative Memories Rugged Kit. I used the Gypsy to cut the circles and scalloped circles from DoodleCharms. I made a 5.25 X 5.25 square template and tried to get the circles to fit nicely inside of the borders. My first attempt is on my table and this one just seems to be a little bit small. Oh well...

is another Bugaboo digi and I think he is just so so C-O-O-L! I went to town with the Glossy Accents and added it to four out of the five cards that I made today. On Poppin's card I added it to the sun, the orange spots on the float, and to the water. The background pattern paper is from Colorbok Bright paper pack and I used orange cardstock to mat the image and pattern paper.

Deacon is another Bugaboo Digi...I trimmed and popped him up on pop dots. It looks like he is sitting on the red double stitched ribbon. I wasn't sure about the background but I think I like the colors that I pulled out of the scrap bin. I added a little twine and popped up the green and brown layer.

Texture is the requirement over at One Stop Craft Challenge. I ran the red cardstock through a new Cuttlebug Folder...it almost looks like argyle. There is a sketch challenge over at Bugaboo's Wacky Wednesday on Paper Craft Planet and Crafters Digital Art Center. I chose a Scene It digi Fruit Fly from Bugaboo Stamps. The pattern paper is from DCWV Nana's Nursery: All About Girls. I added brads to follow the sketch and to attach the sentiment that is from Scrap-a-licious Times. I even added Glossy Acents to the Fruit Flies' wings and to the seeds on the fruit. I am also adding this card to The Paper Variety's challenge "Include a Fruit" and Catch the Bug's Anything Goes.

The second cartridge is Birthday Bash and it of course has a load of cutest cuts ever too. I chose the happy elephant from page 38. I used the Gypsy to set up my card, but I am using the card cut so I still don't know the approximate sizes. I think it will fit in a 5.5 X 5.5 envelope. I just haven't tried it yet...

I recieved two cartridges today and I couldn't wait to try them out. My first card is the worm on page 47 from Boys will be Boys. This cartridge has some of the cutest cuts ever...I used the Gypsy to set up my card so I don't know the measurements, but the card base is 5X5 if that helps any. I popped up the worm on dimensionals and used a pattern paper from DCWV Nana's Nursery: All about Girls for the leaf. Though I have to say I have never seen a worm on a leaf or in a tree.

Paper Cutz Challenge is looking for BANNERS this week and thankfully there is one on the April Showers Cricut Cartridge. I used the Gypsy to measure everything out so I don't know the exact measurements, but the card base is 5.5 X 4 if that helps. I also cut out the little birdie for Allsorts Challenge Blog and used a piece pattern paper for the top cut and a brad for its eye. The flower ribbon came from Joann's and I really really like it!!

I downloaded this digi from Shop Scrap Booking Supply. I really like the "cameo" look of this image. I added a flower that was taken off of a bamboo skewer and two strands of a pearl chain. The background pattern paper is from DCWV The Glitter Mat Stack. I was going for the sketch at The Sweetest Thing blog, but with a little creative license...

When I scan my pics they really flatten out the softer embellishments, hence the "flat flower", but it also does something hinky to the black paper when there is a little shimmer or glitter added. Oh well...

This card reminds me of my eleven year old boy. He likes to laze about and play his Nintendo when he doesn't have anything else to do. Which I thought would work nicely with Whimsie Doodles Challenge for a "teen/kid". The image is from Dustin Pike. He put together a set inspired by a young boy, Dylan. The black background paper is from DCWV Glitter Mat Stack. The green pattern paper is from Paper Studio's Celebration paper pack. I added a piece of black cardstock and layered a thin ribbon with white stitching. The image is colored with an assortment Bic Mark it markers and PrismaColor markers. The image is popped up on dimensionals on a piece of white Core'dinations card stock.

Bugaboo's Wacky Wednesday used a beach scene for their challenge inspiration. I chose Isabella at the Beach from the Bugaboo stamp store. I paper pieced her outfit and beach ball. I watched a video last week on taping small scraps to a white sheet of images and then running the paper through the printer again. I like this idea...I don't waste nearly as much pattern paper! All of the pattern paper (including the background) came from DCWV Nana's Nursery: Baby Girl. Except for the beach ball though, that came from the Birthday Extravaganza mat stack.

Not quite, but it is very similar to the grad card that I made last weekend. A high school graduation invitation came in the mail today for a family friend, so I decided to mimic the previous card with just a few tweeks. I used my Gypsy again, but instead of a stamped sentiment on the front, I used the Digital Delights by Louby Lou Friday Freebie. I think I like this one so much more! I think that since I used a digi, it also qualifies for the Catch the Bug challenge for Dads, Grads, or Celebrations. I did use the "Congrats" sentiment on the inside of the card and think that should qualify for Craftspot by Kimberly's challenge for "Congratulations".

A co-worker wanted a get well card for a boy around 10 years old. My first cut was the dalmatian puppy from Create a Critter and my kid said it was too baby-ish! BAH! So off to Gypsy-land and DoodleCharms I go. I think I like this one even better though. I used DCWV The Pet Stack and I typed up the sentiment in Word. I love my GYPSY!!! I designed this graduation card using the Gypsy and it was a SNAP!!! How awesome is that?! My neice graduated from a local college and I couldn't help wanting to try my hand at a graduation card. The paper is from DCWV The Grade School stack and The High School mat stack. Instead of using the diploma on Everyday Paper Dolls, I used a sticker from K&Company's Little Life's Occasions Graduation Medley. The "star" ribbon is from the small ribbon rack at Joann's and I used a sentiment from Paper Studios.

Stamp Fairy has some of the cutest digis and this one was even FREE (my favorite word). I followed the sketch at Delightful Inspiration. I used my new Mother's Day present, the GYPSY, to cut out the oval and scalloped oval. I added brads for the embellishments but the tassles on the sketch threw me for a loop. The pattern paper is from DCWV Pocket Full of Posies mat stack with a purplish pink cardstock from Core'dinations.

Even though my challenge notebook has a week full of challenges to complete, I have not liked the cards that I have made or just couldn't come up with something I wanted to make. Yuckolla! That was until I visited Dusin Pike's website that is...He has offered up "Dudley and his Power Wheel" image and you can create anything!! I decided to combine my project with the recipe challenge at Birthday Sundaes: 3 different embellishments and 2 pattern papers.
I embossed the orange cardstock with the "spots and dots" folder, added brads to the corners, and some twine as my embellishments. I grabbed the pattern paper from my scrap bin and I can not remember the who's...The circle sentiment came from Kate's Krafty Korner.

Bugaboo Stamps is giving an AKV Baseball collection digi for their Friday Freebie. I followed The Sweetest Thing sketch for my card and I think this one has to be my favorite! I didn't do much crafting today, but I did fold and put up clothes. I wouldn't say it was an even trade, but I did unearth last year's summer clothes from one of the many piles. Not sure if I should be happy or ashamed!
Today's card came from the Pagoda cartridge. I cut the card and flower from page 58. I really like those flowers, but I don't think I like how it turned out in this cut. I did the fit to page cut and it comes out at 5 3/4 inches. I embossed the background white cardstock with a new flower folder with the cuttlebug and attached it to the left on the inside of the card. I then added another white piece for the other side of the fold for my message. It looked a little plain so I added a black frame and three pearls. I think it would have been nicer without the frame. Well now I know. Bah Humbug!

These bookmarks are huge! I guess if you are going to do something you might as well do it BIG! Meljens Designs Challenge is to create a bookmark. I chose four images to color and a lot of scraps! I did not use one sheet of new paper. WOW! I used Create a Critter to cut the black circle and colored scallops. Paper Cutz Challenge and Digi Doodle Shop's Best is Anything Goes.

The images on the first two bookmarks are from a template at PaperCraft Inspirations. I just love that little caterpillar and hedgehog. All quotes were googled, then copied and pasted in MSWord.

The little martian is from Spyder's Corner. She has some awesome digis and this one was offered for FREE.

The little vroom vroom car is a Meljen's Design freebie. She has a whole page dedicated for free digis and I have not noticed a time limit for any of them...

Delightful Inspirations is a progressive challenge. Each week you enter a project using one of their digis, they send you the next week's digi for FREE. I purchased my little fairy for this week's challenge and hope to be able to keep up with their cute challenges from now on. The paper is from DCWV Hippie Chic mat stack. I "paper pieced" the shirt and colored the rest of her with a mix of Prisma colors and Bic Mark it markers. I love the colors in this card and think that the green ribbon really pops! I am also entering her into Digi Doodle Shop's Best Anything Goes Challenge.

Back at the Barnyard...

It has taken me almost two weeks to come up with my project for The Creative Sisters Barnyard Theme Challenge over at Linda's Creativity. While shopping with the munchkins, the youngest one found this cute ribbon showcasing all the animals on the farm. I could not resist (even though it was 2.97 for the roll!) Then I saw DZ Doodles sketch and viola...I used Create a Critter and cut my cow at 2 inches and generated the sentiment on the computer. I think the background paper is from an All Seasons paper pack from Paper Studios and of course the ribbon that launched this little card is from WALMART!!

A Digi and a Sketch...

DZ Doodles is offering a free digi to use in their challenge this week and you should also follow the sketch that was given. I used pattern paper from DCWV Pocket Full of Posies and even "paper pieced" the same paper for the little girl's shirt. I don't know how much piecing I will be doing in the future. It is easier, but sure does waste a lot of paper!

Trying Something New...

Momo once indicated that she never purchased 12 X 12 paper packs to make her cards. Well it does make sense so the last two crafting trips I bought the little mat stacks. At Joann's they are currently 5.99 and then I have an additional 15% off. I don't have as many scraps left over and I am able to buy more sets. SWEET!! Today I bought DCWV The Glitter Mat Stack, Hippie Chic, and All About Girls. What a variety of assorted papers for only $15.00!!

I used The Glitter Mat Stack to make the burlap sack and for the background pattern paper. I cut the "flower" tree from Freshly Picked at 4 inches and used a new sentiment from "Happy Everything" wood mounted stamps. I didn't like how the little pieces cut (the tie and flowers) so I tied on pink beading cord and added flower embellishments from Paper Studios' Gemstone assortment. The leaves and burlap sack are popped up on dots and layered with the shadow cut. Once again...Clean and Simple!

is the challenge at Craftspot by Kimberly. I chose a digi from Melon Headz Illustrating and layered it on to purple and white cardstock. The pattern paper is from DCWV Nana's Kids. I think I am going to also at it to Claudia and Company's Clean and Simple challenge too.

Banner Colors!

Dustin Pike is issuing a challenge to use TWO colors from his banner. I chose green and brown to spotlight his Party Dragon digi. The digi has a few more colors than requested, but I looked at a few of the DT images and they did too. Hopefully this one will also pass muster and be ok. I used Bic Mark-it markers to color the image and glossy accents on the confetti. The green pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane paper pack and the ribbon is from Paper Studio. Paper Playtime is also hosting their Digi Monday challenge and they want a card for a "FRIEND".

Flowers for Mum...

How about a bunch of flowers that won't ever wilt? Freshly Picked has a few that would work. This set was cut at 3 inches and placed on DCWV Pocket Full of Posies pattern paper. I downloaded the sentiment from one of Papercraft Inspirations paper sets and added it to the stake.

Another digi from Spyder's Corner! I used The Sweetest Thing sketch and paper from DCWV Pet Stack. I added glossy accents to the flower centers and used twine instead of a ribbon. I cut out fish from the pattern paper and tied it on as an embellishment.

Yep. This will be the last Easter card for awhile. I used this adorable digi from Melon Headz. She has a load of digis that are absolutely awesome and she offers them for FREE! I decided to enter this card in Claudia and Company's Clean and Simple and Anything Goes Pink and Brown Challenge.

I fashioned this digi after my nephew that was recently in the hospital. Seven years old and he had a KIDNEY STONE! Yowzers!! The digi came from Sliekje digi Stamps. The green background paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane pack and the spotted brown is from DCWV Animal Crackers stack. Because the digi was relatively bigger than usual, I made the card into a 5.25X5.25.
